One of the most challenging issues that clergy members face is how to assist the community in navigating life's more difficult questions within the context of the tenets of the Church. It is imperative to all who are currently serving a local Valley as their EGC representative to develop the basic counseling skills and knowledge base needed to support our brethren in their journeys through this life.
In order to accomplish this, the OTO Psychology Guild, under the guidance of the Primate Sabazius, has developed a curriculum of pastoral counseling for the clergy of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica. It consists of a weekend devoted to learning basic counseling skills, legal issues, family dynamics in EGC communities, basic intervention techniques, advice for the counselor, and much more.
The Pastoral Counseling Workshop has received much praise from the brethren who have attended. It is open to all ordained Bishops, Priests, and Priestesses of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, Local Body Masters, and members of Ordo Templi Orientis of third degree and above who are working towards ordination and have the recommendation of their Supervising Bishop.
Our presenters will be Fraters David Shoemaker, Travis Mead, and David Hill.
The fee for the workshop is $25.00 for all registrations received before 9/21. After 9/21, registration is $35.00. This covers both days, and includes lunch.
